Read the first poem
Musings of a Full Moon
by Helen P. Souranoff
This is a collection of musings, memoirs, and poetry
written over a period of a few years that began as
heartbreak and then slowly developed into an artistic
calling, if you will, of pieces written almost entirely during
the time of full moon phase. I don't fully understand why
this is so, but that seems to be the magic time of artistic
reception. I write about what I feel, see and hear in the
world when I am able to press 'stop' and be still. Within that
stillness comes motion, but at a speed and attentive
accuracy which allows the full moon spirits to congregate
in my head, if only briefly, and create. Some of this work is
past energies (semi-chronologically presented), some of
present tense, and other work is dreaming. I write with
aspirations of reaching others in their days of darkness.
Exploring common stories is the cure, I believe. Digging
deep, I open up, receive the messages and then write them
down to hopefully inspire others to let go and see what can
grow.
"Helen writes words that form from her heart and from her soul and spirit. Thoughts such as mists at night reflecting the moon's light into various shapes and images become her art, her writings, her musings. One knows right away that her words are not mere abstract doodlings but are in fact a real part of someone worth meeting and coming to know. After reading Helen's writings, even the moon will shine a little fuller . . . a little brighter . . . as it reflects more than the sun, but a writer's heart."
